Sotiria Koloutsou-Vakakis Dr. Sotiria Koloutsou-Vakakis has worked on characterization of physical and chemical properties of ambient aerosol particles, as these relate to climate change and urban pollution. She has also worked with global environmental agreements for climate change and the protection of the ozone layer. Her current research is on air quality measurement with optical methods, land-atmosphere exchange of trace gases, compilation of emission inventories from agriculture and air quality modeling. She is actively involved with K-12 STEM outreach activities. |

Mark J Rood Professor Rood specializes in the use of physical and chemical principles to characterize the optical and chemical properties of ambient aerosols related to opacity, visibility, and climate change. These techniques use extractive-based and remote-based sampling techniques. He also pioneers the development of effective methods and materials to separate hazardous materials from gas streams and the separation and recovery of organic vapors/gases from gas streams for reuse in a sustainable manner. |
